With the Global Grants Programme run by Rotary International, six UK obstetricians visited India for a two-week period to pass on skills and best practice from the UK to train medical and allied professionals who practice in remote tribal areas. We travelled to Bhuj and the results are very promising towards achieving the WHO Sustainable Development Goals. The intention is to teach the health professionals to become ‘Master Trainers’ who could then go on to cascade their knowledge, skills and enthusiasm to others, improving emergency care around childbirth. The Meghalaya project is being set up as a distanced, e-learning course in 2021 due to the pandemic.
